My past experience as Accountant within the Banking (Retail & Offshore) and Lease financing sectors have enabled me to perform certain duties, namely Final Audited Accounts as well as monthly Final Accounts and forecast/budgetary control reports, as well as the drafting and control of Cash-Book, Imprest Petty-Cash, Debtors and Creditors Control A/Cs, the Fixed Asset Register and VAT Control A/C. Moreover, as Accountant for sectors as quoted in the previous paragraph, I also assumed the responsibility for the submission of reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annually) as applicable to the Central Bank, the Financial Services Commission, as well as the VAT office and the Large Tax Payers Department (Corporate Tax). I have also been fulfilling the tasks of Compliance & Money Laundering Reporting in the Lease Financing sector. Within my functions as Administrative Coordinator, I have been acquainted with Payments to Suppliers and Customers, and have also been responsible for Debtors and Accruals, as well as certain verifications of Customers Files. As regards Accounting & Book-keeping tasks, I have evolved from basic hand-written books in 1985 and am now conversant with software like Tasbooks, Accpac, Pastel and JDE & Hyperion. I started as Accounts Clerk and after 23 years of working experience, I was performing till May 2008 as Accountant, for a section/branch of Investec Bank (Mauritius) Ltd., namely IT Projects and Basel II, following a previous appointment within the Specialised Finance (Capital Markets) team.
