I have been working in hospitality for around 7 years. Within this time, I have had extensive experience in all areas of food and beverage including bar, café and a la carte service. I have gained this experience from jobs such as; Cactus Jacks Licensed Restaurant in Mackay; Laguna Whitsunday Resort; and recently a variety of witnessing, barista and bar attendant positions on Norfolk Island where I have returned after a year long working holiday. I characterize myself as an enthusiastic, efficient, hard worker who is willing to learn and tackle any task. I always approach life as well as my jobs with a friendly and positive attitude. I believe this an essential outlook to possess in the hospitality industry in addition to being able to work with a team environment. In my previous positions I have placed the highest importance on teamwork. In addition, I am fully competent all in food and beverage duties. These include, but are not limited to, being able to carry three plates at a time, using cash caddies to exchange money, check timing on meals, answer phones and make bookings, pour wine at the table, teaching others barista techniques, carrying drink trays and taking food orders to allocated tables. I also have experience in opening and closing cafes and restaurants and four star presentation for al a carte’ dinning. I also believe in embracing new challenges, which I have demonstrated by completing a degree in Music Theatre. I am also currently completing my studies to become an Early Childhood teacher. I believe that the practical experience I have obtained in the workforce coupled with my determination to further my education makes me a worker who has the highest work ethic and I would appreciate the chance to utilize my skills within your company.
