Registered Nurse

I wish to work as a Staff Nurse in a tertiary hospital in any state/city in Australia. I have been working since January 2008 as a Pulmonary Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of Ospital Ng Makati here in the Philippines. The following are my duties/responsibilities as a Pulmonary Nurse: Assists adult/elderly patients who suffer from pulmonary disorders. Makes use of careful assessment to determine the initial status of the patient. Secures a patent airway for the patient mainly thru suctioning via endotracheal tubes and tracheostomy tubes. Utilizes cardio-pulmonary equipment and machines needed to assist or monitor the patient’s breathing. Responsible in setting up the mechanical ventilators (Models: Puritan Bennett 760 & 840; Drager; New Era). Weans the patient from the mechanical ventilator to oxygen regulator, as ordered by the physician. Gives nebulization as needed, and as ordered by the physician. Performs chest physiotherapy and turnings to the patient. Monitors the oxygen saturation of the patient; obtains blood for Arterial Blood Gases interpretation. Assists in performing the cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
