My main areas of expertise include 14 years of Research and Development (R&D) and General Management of materials, products, production and processing. My niche areas are in the polymer-chemical, chemical, forensic (both biochemical and pharmaceutical) and biomedical disciplines. My chemical forensic experience at the Forensic Science Laboratory of the SA Police consisted of 2 years biochemical and 2 years pharmaceutical experience. I developed one biochemical and one mathematical method and became skilled in the various chemical analytical techniques. I gained experience in project, product, general and personnel management,business administration and operational logistics during my 13 years as Managing Director of my own company. I also fulfilled the role of Product and Production Manager for 9 years, and became vastly experienced in chemical research, formulation, product development and processing. After selling the company, I was appointed as researcher for 3 years by CPT at the CSIR, where I developed an optical scanning method. I developed and formulated non-toxic polymeric stabilisers, and simultaneously attained my Masters Degree “cum laude and became proficient in several polymer-chemical techniques, ISO standardised testing methods and laboratory practices. I am currently appointed as R&D Engineer at Altech Namitech, where I critically analyse and optimise production processes, products and materials in both the paper and plastic production environments. I also advise on large projects, such as new plant layouts for new product lines. I developed a novel optical evaluation method. I am an above average formulation scientist, and am able to manage various company problems (production, process, products and material) issues efficiently. I have recently completed my Doctorate on the chemical reactions of stabilisers in polymers, which was commended as excellent by my examiners. My career objective is to apply my theoretical knowledge and practical experience in a managerial position.
