My name is Elaine Chung and I am a certified English teacher from Australia. I was born in Canberra but have lived most of my life in the city of Sydney. While My parents are from Singapore and Malaysia, I spoke little Chinese growing up and consider myself a native English speaker. I have completed a TESOL Certificate from Teach International in Sydney, Australia, with electives in Business and IELTS English. I have completed a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from the University of Sydney, with a major in Psychology and a major in History. I furthered my education in History when I completed a first class Honours, writing a thesis on modern political relations between China and Taiwan. My High School education was completed with St George Girls' High School, a prestigious selective school in Sydney. My academic experience has given me a good handle on the English language in both the written and spoken media, which could be invaluable to English students. My professional experience in Australia has provided me with excellent communication and rapport-building skills which have been a great asset in the classroom. My teaching experience in China has exposed me to many challenges in various classroom situations. While it has been a steep learning curve, my motivation to become a better English teacher remains strong. I am a highly enthusiastic and passionate person. I am a confident speaker and have a helpful nature with people. These qualities really magnetise me to the teaching profession
