Over the last 6 years I have gained vast experience in General Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I continue to expand my experience in Obstetrics especially in Labour ward management and in Obstetric emergencies. I have performed many Caesarean sections and I am competent in conducting instrumental deliveries. I have conducted antenatal clinics .I gained valuable experience in the management of high risk pregnancy. I am competent in the assessment and management of the whole spectrum of both emergency and elective cases in gynaecology. I have performed major surgical procedures under supervision such as Hysterectomy, surgery for malignancies, surgery for incontinence etc. I have conducted Gynaecology outpatient clinics as well . I am competent in Operative Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy, which includes surgery such as Adhesiolysis, Cystectomy, Salpingetomy and Myomectomy. I am experienced in procedures such as Pap smear, Colposcopy, and biopsy. Assisted Reproduction I received training in Assisted Reproduction (IUI, IVF, ICSI) All the above tasks and responsibilities were under Supervision of Consultant Obstetricians and Gyneacologists, Lecturer; I have a horizon of experience in medical academics, having been employed as a lecturer to the Faculty of medicine, university of Colombo from 2001 to 2005 for teaching of undergraduate students
