Applications to Radiology Services are welcomed from Radiologists who are eligible for vocational registration with the NZ Medical Council.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with particular interest or subspecialty skill in neuro-imaging, paediatric radiology, hepatobillary imaging/intervention or diagnostic angiography/vascular intervention.
Radiology Services provides a range of secondary and tertiary level services to a catchment of approximately one million people who live in the lower half of the North Island and top of the South Island.
A full range of modalities are provided and include:
* General Radiography Rooms (7)
* Digital fluoroscopy unit
* ATL 5000 ultrasound machines (3)
* 1.5 Tesla MRI unit with capability for spectroscopy, diffusion and vascular imaging etc
* Multi-slice and single slice CT
* Digital angiographic suite
* Mammography with stereotactic capabilities
* 2 gamma Camera Nuclear Medicine Department
As a recognised training institution for Registrars, Medical Radiation Technologists and Sonographers, emphasis is placed on teaching, including ongoing professional development. This is a unique opportunity to work in a patient focused department, to contribute significantly to patient care and to the further development of their imaging services.
The new regional hospital is nearing completion and the radiology department is planning to move into the new facilities later this year. The new department is being equipped with nine million dollars of new imaging equipment.
