As an integral member of the Provider Services - Provider Database Team, the Data Analyst's major responsibilities include: data entry, data verification, maintenance, and support of the Medial Staff Office (MSO) database, and BICs Credentialed Provider and Referring Provider databases; analysis and organization of clinical, financial, and administrative data; coordination of a variety of special projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Researches, cleans, and verifies Referring Provider data in the BICs Referring Provider Database.
2.Obtains and enters National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers for credentialed and referring providers in MSO and BICs.
3.Conducts other daily database management and analysis including data cleaning, tracking, collection, imports, and exports.
4.Collaborates with the Data Administrator on the development of data entry design and protocols, considering information to be collected, sources of data, entry methodology, flow of information, and timetables.
5.Identifies, investigates, and resolves data anomalies and discrepancies.
6.Receives, prioritizes, and responds to ad hoc requests for data and reports.
7.Works with the Data Administrator in production of one-time and routine reports. Reviews output, and distributes, as appropriate.
8.Works with the Data Administrator to evaluate the technology needs of the department and assists with implementation of new technology.
9.Assists in ensuring that departmental processes meet regulatory requirements from the Joint Commission, NCQA, HIPPA, and Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
10.Assists with design of queries and reports to support credentialing and third party payor enrollment.
11.Maintains and updates user manuals and security access profiles.
12.Assists with training and support of users.
13.Assists with maintenance of reports to measure the Provider Database Team's impact on Revenue Operations queues.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
.Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
.A minimum of three years of work experience in a healthcare environment required
.A minimum of three years of data management or information systems experience required.
.Proficiency with Microsoft Access.
.Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
.Knowledge of IDX, PeopleSoft, or BICs helpful.
.Experience with healthcare third party billing a plus.
.Familiarity with provider billing numbers including the National Provider Identifier (NPI), a plus.
9.Familiarity with Professional Licensure a plus.
