The Production Engineer will be responsible for regulatory reporting of production (S-23) to the Energy utilities Board, annual energy cost allocations and daily production management reporting for the Horizon Oil Sands Project.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to::
-Lead the design and implementation team for the Horizon mass balance & production reporting system.
-Working with consultants, area process engineers and Distributed Control System design team, capture and report mass balance flows within the Horizon facility
-Mass balance model validation.
-Creation the S23 production accounting manual and gain approval by the EUB.
-Interpret, document and implement the process for the allocation of energy costs on plant site.
-Ensure that the production information requirements for EUB, royalty and operational reporting are addressed.
-Create an effective production reporting system that satisfies management requirements and interfaces with the financial production tracking system.
-Respond to metering questions from area process engineers.
-Review, develop and provide input to engineering standards and specifications relating to production accounting and material balancing for the project.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
-Registration or eligibility for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGGA is a requirement.
-2 years exposure in the oil sands production processes, metering and/or supervisory role in maintenance or operating environment working in oil sands facilities is preferred
-interest in production and material balance reporting.
-comfortable with coordinating a large project.
-Written and communication skills are required.
-Ability to express thoughts clearly both verbally and in writing.
