This is a rotating shift position reporting to the Training Coordinator and respective plant Superintendents in Bitumen Production. The Operations Trainer will help organize, develop and ensure implementation of all training requirements for operations and maintenance personnel in this business area. Training resources may include: CBT modules, training manuals, process simulation equipment, contract training specialists or equipment and area specific training associated with mineral and hydrocarbon processing. Also responsible for field training and qualifying of operations personnel with equipment and processes exclusive to Bitumen Production.
Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to:
-Identify specific training requirements for all operations and maintenance personnel in Bitumen Production
-Work with the Operations Shift Team Leads and the Training Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of all identified training and maintain training records for BP personnel
-Develop individual training programs for operators in all BP positions to meet commissioning, start up and plant operating demands
-Train and qualify field technicians in their respective positions
-Monitor and advise management on compliance of operating and maintenance personnel with training qualifications
-Support the development and implementation of a JDE based training tracking system
-Maintain individual training records for Bitumen Production personnel
-Monitor operations training on a DCS plant simulator
-Prepare weekly and monthly reports of training status, program development or other key team performance indicators
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
-training experience including exposure to safety & loss prevention, plant operations and delivery of training programs obtained in a large integrated plant site and/or Oil Sand operating facility.
-Related post secondary education is an asset.
-Previous plant experience in an operations role will be an asset.
-Superior written, oral communication and organizational skills.
This position is based on our Horizon Site located 70km north of the town of Fort McMurray.
