Reporting to the Manager, Mine Maintenance or General Foremen Mine Maintenance, the Supervisor, Mine Maintenance is a front line supervisor supporting the maintenance goals and objectives by directing the field, shop or shovel maintenance crews.
Specific accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Execution of the planned and unplanned maintenance in support the Horizon Oil Sands Project Mining and Mine Maintenance Team
- Continuing reliability and availability of all assets within Mining
- Following the maintenance plan, and supporting the safe, effective and productive activities of Mine Operations by guiding the supporting people and resources to maintain the equipment
- Liaise with other personnel within the Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance Groups, and also with other supporting departments on the Horizon Project Site, including Loss Prevention, Warehousing and Accounting, as well as the contracted suppliers providing direct maintenance parts and support
- Directing, within the guidelines and policies of Canadian Natural Resources, all aspects of effective maintenance of the mining equipment.
Employment requirements
- An Inter-Provincial Trades certificate or a Technician’s Diploma from a recognized college preferred
- Heavy equipment maintenance supervisory experience an asset.
- Working knowledge of computer maintenance planning programs, computer programs utilized for maintenance trouble-shooting
- Microsoft Office Applications
- High level of self initiative, be capable of working on their own or in concert with others, possess high internal customer service commitment, and preferably experience within the oil sands mining or heavy equipment maintenance sector
The location of this position will be the Horizon Oil Sands Project located 70 km north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
