Assistant Director of Engineering / Facilities Operations - Bermuda
 

Our client, a leading world class hotel resort, based in Bermuda, is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to be an integral member of their Maintenance Team in the position of:

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES OPERATIONS

The successful individual will work under the supervision of the Director of Facility Operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Organizing and assigning all work orders to lead building operators, building technicians and relevant contractors in response to all daily guest room, front and heart of house and dormitory maintenance requests
• Scheduling of weekly maintenance personnel, assisting with daily payroll and training of maintenance personnel
• Ordering of materials in relation to building equipment, assisting with the management of the department budget
• Assisting the lead shift building operators and maintenance technicians with trouble-shooting, preventive maintenance programs and emergencies.
• Work closely with the Director of Facilities Operations on annual operational and capital budget items
• Coordinating with all departments in the hotel to accomplish daily maintenance job tasks and the monitoring and maintaining of all mechanical and electrical systems as scheduled
• Daily Preventive Maintenance scheduling of equipment, operation and repairs of the existing H.P. Steam Boilers, Chillers, Air Handling Units, Electrical Systems, Emergency Generators, Refrigeration Systems, Fire System, pumps and related equipment.


Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 Years experience to include 3 years as Assistant Director of Engineering in a large luxury hotel. Building Operator or Building Maintenance Technician in a large hotel, hospital or large multi facility building is required combined with a working knowledge of all building systems and codes.
• Must hold a minimum of a 4th Class Power engineering certificate or other relevant qualification; an extra trade certificate and inventory management experience would be an asset for this position.
• A demonstrated knowledge of EMS Automated Logic Control (or similar systems), strong organizational skills and leadership together with demonstrated knowledge and skills of building systems and computer applications.

This position will include weekend coverage, public holidays and 24 hours on call.
