Company description:

Tropical Mackay

Mackay truly is the heart of Queensland, located on the coast halfway between Brisbane and Cairns. With its coastal location, Mackay offers residents and visitors alike a relaxed, tropical lifestyle that combines all the facilities of a modern regional city and an array of natural wonders. It is also the jumping off point for the spectacular Great Barrier Reef.

The city boasts numerous beachside suburbs as well as inner-city living and residential acreages close to town. Mackay is the largest sugar producing area in Australia and is home to several sugar mills, one of Australia’s four sugar refineries and the largest bulk sugar terminal in the world. And of course the Pioneer River, one of the few blue-water rivers on the Queensland coast.

There are excellent schools, both private and public and good sporting facilities. Mackay is a wonderful family environment. Ammenities include two large shopping centres, an entertainment centre, two cinemas, and two libraries.

For art and craft lovers, there is a selection of stores and weekend markets with a wide variety of local pottery, giftware, woodturning and art. There is also the Mackay Artspace, incorporating a 270 square metre gallery, a permanent social history gallery, three different community workshop spaces and a café opening onto a park.

The Whitsunday Islands are one of the greatest tourist attractions in Australia. Many of the 74 tropical islands are uninhabited however other islands such as Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, and Long Island plus a host of others do supply accommodation.

The Reef Marina established at the Mackay Harbour has a tropical ambience, palms and tropical plants line the Marinas pathways, and the view beyond those, is luxury yachts, sailing boat, catamarans, blue skies, tropical islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Restaurants, and tapas bar are available at the marina, and it is the perfect place to sit back and watch the yachts sail in on sunset.
The Marina currently has one of the best Super Yacht bases on the east coast of Queensland. At it's completion, the multi million dollar marina development will be one of the largest fully integrated marinas in Australia.
Other things to do in the Mackay Region are a visit the rainforest of Eungella National Park (the home of the platypus), or visiting the islands for snorkelling, scuba diving, excellent fishing and just relaxing.
Family Medicine.
We are a busy two-partner practice in North Mackay seeking a new partner or long-term associate. Our practice encompasses both General Practice and Occupational Medicine. We are looking to open a new branch in the township of Nebo which is a hour’s drive inland from Mackay in the heart of a busy coal mining region.
We are looking for a hard working, energetic, compatible person, to help us develop our business. A qualification in occupational health would be an advantage. We do not bulk-bill except at the Doctor’s discretion (for needy patients).
I am enclosing our Practice Brochure

FAMILY MEDICINE

DR. DAVID PARKER

INTRODUCTION

The Practice was established by Dr. Peter Fenner in September 1995, and was joined by Dr. David Parker in October 1999.
PHILOSOPHY
Our aim is patient satisfaction. We would be happy to discuss, or receive any correspondence on problems that you feel you may have with any aspect of our Family Practice, whether it is with staff, billing, or our care. It is only with feedback that we can make the service everything that we, and you the patients want it to be.
Medicine changes - ‘prevention is better than cure’ is the new philosophy, with early detection of risk factors identified to prevent health deterioration in later life. Our aim is to give you the highest standard of medical care that is possible. Your help and patience whilst we achieve and maintain accurate details on your past and present health, immunisations, operations, family history of diseases, and any related risk factors, would be appreciated.
Computers will be used almost exclusively - your information is safe and totally private on them, and yet they will remind us, and help you, know when you need to be checked - for whatever reason. They will also keep accurate records of when, or if, any of your risk factors for medical problems need checking again - this helps us provide the best care possible.
