History
In 1989 The Rushd Private School was founded in the City of Al Ain, UAE, a primary British Curriculum mixed school. The proprietors were always keen on offering the best education to their community and they decided to adopt the EDUGATES® International Systems for their schools as of September 2001. EDUGATES®, providers of highly academic educational systems, were appointed to start up and manage Madar International School Al-Ain, which replaced the older Rushd school. The new school is college preparatory, KG to Grade 11 International School. EDUGATES® also manage the La Cite High School and The Balamand High School in Lebanon.

The Campus
The school campus is in the area of Towayya, a calm beautiful residential area, a 15-minute drive away from the City Center. The buildings and the courts comprise of classrooms, halls, offices, a clinic, staff-rooms, a canteen, two swimming pools and a gymnastics hall and outdoor courts.

The Student Body
Most of the Rushd students continued with EDUGATES® Systems and joined the new Madar School. Students come from UAE families and from the expatriate families of different nationalities who live in Al Ain, including business people, university professors, medical doctors and other professionals. The school expects between 250 and 335 students for the academic year 2005 -2006.

The Educational System
The School is a college preparatory school that follows the EDUGATES® International Systems which adopt highly academic curricula, whole-class instruction methods and require that preset syllabus schedules and plans are met. English is the medium of communication and instruction. The system adopts a coherent selection of English and American published textbooks that are carefully chosen by the EDUGATES® management to help the school achieve the advanced academic standards it aims for. The curriculum leads towards a high school diploma, Advanced Placement Examinations, British GCSEs and A levels. Students are tested regularly and frequently. Serious hard work and a high standard of discipline are expected from all. Everyone is accountable and progress and promotion are linked to performance. EDUGATES® cares also that the school ambience remains always friendly and pleasant. Teachers get the continuous support of the administration and there are clear school rules that are taught to students. The school year starts early in September and ends late in June. The school day is from 7:45 am to 3:30 pm. The weekends are on Thursdays and Fridays. Parent-School liaison is done by the administration and not through parent teacher meetings. The School is equipped with a PC for every student of Grade Three and up and a sophisticated state of the art LAN in each of those classes.
